i am nearly finished on my patio and yesterday used lithofins 'cement away' cleaner to take the cement residue off the surface and then jet washed the whole area.
3 tiles seeem to have white deposit on the surface, is it possible for efflorescence to come up through slate ? could it be a reaction to the cleaner ? if i seal all the unaffected tiles and wait to see if the white clears is that a bad idea ? how easy is it to bury the girlfriend under a patio ? (oops just slipped out !)
thanks

is this really slate or is it sandstone? Some people refer to any thin flags as 'slate' without understanding that slate is a type of rock distinctly different from sandstone (or quartzite, or limestone, or whatever)
A photo would be a big help. I wouldn't expect eff with genuine slate, but it could be a by-product of the cement bedding/jointing.

hi tony
ah the impatience of youth (35 1/2)
having inspected further the mark is nothing more than the raised parts of the riven slate !
yes it is proper slate 30mm thick from probably welsh wales
will post photo when patio is finished not bad for £120 for 135 square foot of slate from ebay !

p.s. are there any paving jokes ?
