Calculator for block paving?

Hi all

I've had a look around the site and have found calculators for sub-base material and patio slabs etc but nothing that tells me the number of blocks required for a given square-meter of land?

is there one?

I'm trying to work out how many blocks/cost of a 85M2 driveway.

Blocks are priced by sq metre, not by numbers.

Each block is 200x100mm so there would be 5 longways and 10 sideways in m2. Errrr that's 5x10=

I've had a quote for the driveway to be done but using tarmac (cheaper).

they meassured up and the quote came back as 85M2 of area of driveway.

how SHOULD they have specified the area of work?

Note, it's not a straightforward rectangular drive...mor of a "dogs leg" of L-shape drive (front and side of house).

My next question is where should I be looking to buy blocks...I've seen them in the local Builder Centre and Wickes if I remember correctly...also, I've seen posts on other forums moaning about Marshalls blocks...are they to be avoided then?!

What (approximately) should I be looking at paying for a sq meter of blocks?

Sorry, I'm not explaining myself too well...! ???

What I would like to do is use one of these online calculators to type in the sq meter area of land, the depth of sub-base and bedding and it could then give me a VERY rough guestimate of materials to use and if possible (but I doubt it) a rough price for materials.

I've seen the calculator for the sub-base which is good but not seen one that will help me work out how much bedding grit/sand I would need (blocks are fine as you say they are sold by the sq meter anyhow).

All of the above would help me to cost up the job and then I could decide if I would be saving enough to do the job myself.

I appreciate that this is a bit of an ask but I really don't know how to work out my materials costs
