Driveway linear drains

Foul and surface water, private drains and public sewers, land drains and soakaways, filter drains and any other ways of getting rid of water.

Advice please. Linear drain across garage area, with blocked driveway sloping toward garage. What is the acceptable practice, 1)tying it into the storm drainage or 2) as builder has done, punching out the lower apertures and letting the contents seep into the soil below?

Aw come on Tony… The “builder has done him a favour. Depending on the sub-soil; when it rains he will either have a nice paddling pool in the garage for the kiddies or (eventually) the garage will collapse into a muddy hole and create a trendy water feature
