Hi What a great site!

I have split the level of my garden with a wall. From the house I am laying a flag patio which runs to the wall. The wall needs to drain towards the house and the patio needs to drain away from the house. I am therefor using land drain between the wall and patio which will connect to the existing surface drainage system. My question is how do I finish the edge of the paving at the drainage channel. I am concerned that the bed will collapse into the drainage channel. I think I will have to make a concrete edge or add cement to the bed at the edge. If I do this then I am worried that the water under the patio will be trapped, unable to get to the land drain.

Thank you in advance,

Sean

How does a wall "drain"?

If you have paving laid to a free edge, then use a cement-bound bed, as described on the main website.
