Hi We have tarted up the front of our house including driveway with huge amounts of 20mm gravel and you guessed it can't now drive on it without needing towing off it !

Gravel is contained by laid bricks (well little walls as it's so thick). feeling so guilty as it was all my idea and I did no reseach other than thinking it'd look better than the pot wholed tarmac that was there. We don't have the money to pave it or use a specialist company but do need to do something as getting my little girl and baby out of the car with buses whizzing by is not fun.

Could we lay concrete and press the gravel in the top so it looks the same but we can drive on it. (very small drive - just manages to hold the 4 wheels...)

Any help greatly appreciated.

The correct construction for a gravel driveway is given here and your idea of having a gravel surface dressing over concrete is illustrated here
