I am laying a new concrete paving slab patio. For most of the patio I am able to follow the advice given on this website ie MOT1 sub-base with a 50mm 10:1 sand /cement bedding layer. However there is one smallish adjoining area where there is an existing concrete base for a shed. I want to lay 6 off 600x600 slabs (35mm thick) on this base but to get the correct levels there is only room for a 10mm bedding layer. This website mentions using a 20mm mortar bedding layer on a concrete base but can I get away with as little as 10mm? Or is there something else I can use?

Use 10mm. As long as you don't tell anyone: I won't! :D
