I'm Due to undertake a project for a new drive way.

I have a serious lack of space as the whole of the front drive is to be paved.

When laying the blocks can I do it in two halves. lay the sub base in one. Then lay the bedding sand on half with the blocks for that half on one side. Then once half is completed, have the rest of the blocks delivered and put on the side I have already finished.

I live on a very busy main road with a small pavement so storage of bulky materials will have to be where the drive is.

I can't see owt wrong with that, but you'll pay extra haulage for having the blocks delivered in two drops.

Would it not be possible to have the whole driveway dug-off and stoned-up, then have the bedding sand and the blocks delivered, dropped on one half, and then pave the other? When that's paved, shift the remaining blocks onto the paved section (remembering to keep them at least a metre back from the free edge, of course!) and then screed out the sand for the second half.

40m² is roughly 5 packs of blocks and 4 tonnes of sand. It should be easy enough to squeeze all that onto half the area.
