Hi

I wanted to widen my tarmac drive by about 2.5 to 3 feet. It is currently about 20 feet long.
I dug out down to about 250mm and filled with crusha run hardcore up to about 150mm. I have put a new edging in, so just need someone to come and lay the tarmac on the top. How much do you reckon I should pay for this as I don't want to get ripped off. And if it's expensive, could i do it myself and what would i need to get material and tool wise ?

You have 5 or 6 square metres in total. You'll be lucky to get a professional, competent contractor to take it on for less than 500 quid for all the reasons explained on the main website.

Your best option is to keep your eye open for anyone laying blacktop locally and ask them to surface it for you while they're in the area - that way, they'll probably do it for 150 quid in beer vouchers.

Bitmac is NOT a DIY job.
