New patio DIY

Post: # 119686Post jonnycat

Hi first time posting in years, doing a patio approx 7 x 4m.
New build property by Persimmon, existing patio finished level was bang on dpc, so now I have dug out, installed approx 5 ton of mot, whacked and my finished sub base level is still 110mm below my finished surface height which is 2 bricks below dpc.
I'm guessing this is still to much and need to put more mot in to build up?

Also is sloping towards the house ok if there's place to run off down the side of the house? Thank you.

Yes - always build-up levels using the sub-base and NOT by increasing the depth/thickness of the bedding.

If you are falling back towards the house, probably a good idea to install a linear channel or slot drain to intercept the surface water and direct it into a suitable drainage point..... https://www.pavingexpert.com/drain06#construction
