I’m after a bit of advise if possible please, I am just about to extend my patio, the extended patio size will be 10m2 which is 4.05m wide and 1.8m long, I really want the patio to fall away from the house, however the issue I have is our lawn slopes towards the house from the other direction.
I guess my question is do you think if I dug a trench at the end of the patio and filled it with aggregates etc whether this would be enough to drain the water.

Apologies for being late to this - had all sorts of health issues with angina during the heatwave and now an arthritic knee that is driving me mad with pain.
If you have reasonably well-draining ground, you could use a simple infiltration trench, as shown here.....
