Hi All,
The site has been really helpful but i think i need a bit more guided advice.
I am currently laying my dark limestone patio (going well so far) with 10mm width gaps. I would like to point it up with a light mix. I can find white cement locally but the availabilty of the right sand is the harder part. I can get yellow soft sand, kiln dried sand or silver sand from wickes (just a bit further away).
Has anyone created i lighter mortar are happy with the results or do people think a darker mix than the flags is a better way to go?
Also are the edges are riven what do people think is the best method to point? Dry, wet, mortar gun?

Silver sand will give the palest coloured mortar
Method: you have to choose what works for you and your skill set. I never got to grips with gun pointing but other professionals on this forum really rate it. Personally, I'd hand point using a barely moist mix. Dry jointing, as explained on the main website, is too unreliable.
