Hi everybody,
Some of you may have read the saga of our failed Brazilian slate patio. We have received some brilliant info as to why this happened and some possible solutions too. Very grateful for all the help from the forum.
Finances are now a major issue. With what we originally paid, way over the top we now know, and what we have been quoted to relay everything by different contractors, we could have bought a new car !!!!
Obviously, the repointing will have to be done anyway but what is the opinion about using an outdoor construction adhesive, Sakrete or something similar, to stick the loose slabs down on the existing full mortar bed, after it has been well cleaned/vacuumed and the same for the back of the slates ?
All feedback gratefully received, thanks guys.

This is covered on the main website and was also the subject of a fairly extensive thread right here in The Brew Cabin just a few months ago......
