I have an existing slabe (previously used as a base for a 6x8 shed) 6 inch thick on hardcore looking at side excavation. I want to increase this to 10x 10 and raise by around 4 inch the measurements would by around 1 foot extra on 2 sides and the balance on the other 2 so basically not extending equally on all sides. it is noted that the original slab has had no DPM fitted, i was hopping to include this on this rework. My first question is it advisable and ok to enlarge the slab in this way and secoudly would i be able to put the dpm in over the original slab, or could i get away with out it.
I am wanting to build a timber workshop on it and am not sure if i should have a timer floor or use the slabe as it.
Hope you can steer me on the right line here.
Look forward to your reply
