Hello all,

Recently finished laying 600x900 grey limestone paving, as I’ve been doing it all after work over the last few weeks I wasn’t particularly overly fussy on the cleaning up at the end of the evening so am now left with stained rules where I had just brushed damp cement off the edges,

I’ve pressure washed them the best it will do , but it’s still left a white residue mark, purchased some brick and patio cleaner which I’ve tries on an off cut which has left it in a white stained ( see pic)
It all looks perfect when wet and was just wondering as it needs sealing weather this’ will buff up the tile used with acid back to its original state?
Any other options?
Like I can live with the staining as I’m not willing to rip up my hard work just looking for a trainable remedy if there is one,

Hindsight I should have been waaaaay more anal with the cleaning up process....... live and learn!

Thank you

Regards
Ps not sure how to add an image 🤔

generally acid and alkaline do not mix well
and limestone is alkaline
you need to find somewhere to host your images

A wet-look sealant will not make cement staining invisible: just the opposite - it will 'preserve' the staining by protecting it from weathering.

Often, if the stain isn't too heavy, it's better to leave it to weather out rather than try to chemically fix. Chemically, limestone and cement are the same thing - you 'dissolve' one to clean it off, and you end up dissolving the other in the process.
