Small footpath connecting to public walkway - Does it need drainage

Foul and surface water, private drains and public sewers, land drains and soakaways, filter drains and any other ways of getting rid of water.

Don't really do patios any more but a regular customer has asked me to do some paving work consisting of a small 90cm wide 5 meter long footpath running down the side of her front garden.

I can camber this path onto a grass area so would presume minimal water drainage going onto the public footpath but some will of course. Does it need a soakaway?

Can't seem to find a definitive answer.

Is it worth asking the local council? I know all areas are different in their specification?

Council won't be too helpful - I'd put an Aco drain at the interface of the new path and the public footpath and drain it to the nearby soft landscaping - for the small amount of water it will collect, this will be fine.
