Mint sawn indian sandstone problems - Acid stains

Patio flagstones (slabs), concrete flags, stone flags including yorkstone and imported flagstones.

I’ve just laid some mint sawn Indian sandstone flags in my garden and foolishly used an acid based cleaner to remove mortar stains.The flags have now gone a dirty rusty brown colour.Does any one know anything/anyone who can help me remove these horrible stains?
