Tarmac over cobbles - Spec for laying tarmac over cobbles

Setts and cobbles, tarmac, asphalt, resin systems, concrete whether it's plain, patterned or stencilled, gravels, etc.

We've been asked to look at replacing the existing approx 40mm thick bitmac which overlays cobbles on a town centre side street. I'm conscious that this might not be as straightforward as planing off the existing bitmac and simply replacing, can anybody point me towards any guidance or spec for the process, or how to prepare the cobbles for being overlaind, thanks in advance?

plane off,clean, spray with colas colbond 50 emulsion and overlay with AC10 wearing course or similair
