Haunching edges - Diy or contractor

i've been quoted £62 per sq metre to block pave my drive in marshalls driveline 50, i'm trying to price up the job myself to see if its worth me doing it.I'm in the Greater Manchester area so not sure how much of that is the contractors profit.

At present im stuck trying to price up the concrete req to lay and haunch the edges, 25 lineal metres.
also trying to compare the pro and con's of ready mix against mixing by hand or hiring an electrical mixer.

hoping someone can give me some help with this,

P.S.
i also have 75 3x2 flags to dispose of and have no idea what the weight is, anyone any idea how many flags i would get in a 8 tonne
skip.

if the 3x2's are of the modern kind ( 900x600x50 ) then they are approx 66 kilos each so you can get around 120 of the things in the skip as on the monoblocking, make sure you get a few quotes to see what the range is, at a guess, 1 cu metre should do the laying and haunch of the kerbs. Getting ready mix, board and shovel or a mixer is personal preference, a cube of the concrete you need ( c7.5 ) is around 2 tons dry material. Hope this helps

25 linear metres of edge course will need around 1 cubic metre of concrete. Buying in ready-mix will cost anything from 110 quid to 200 quid, depending on the supplier. You can hire a little Belle mixer for 25 quid, plus another 80 quid for materials if you opt to mix your own.
