Hi There

I was wondering if anyone could check my plan and see if going anywhere wrong

I have a concrete area at the back of my that i would like to install a patio, I picked a black linestone (yes I am one of them) I was planning to use 8:1 to moist mix. I read a few things online about mixing in a Plasticiser - do you think this is needed. I am little confuse about the height of the mortar, does it really need to be 50mm or can it be a little shallower on concrete base ?

The slabs i have picked slightly wobbly edge is the any tips for straightening these up or softening the edges so they arn't sharp when step up to the patio

I was going to use easy joint for the grout, anyone got any experience of this ?

any help would be great appreciated

paving over concrete is a huge no-no
http://www.pavingexpert.com/faq_layover01.htm
the job we are on we had to break up the existing concrete slab which took us 2 days (200mm thick in places)
but i can sleep easier at night knowing we have done it right
SBR is preferred in the bedding mix
lay your black (soon to be grey) limestone to a stringline it should be ok
IMHO all polymerics are rubbish and should be banned
LLL :)

Thankyou lutonlagerlout that's very helpful, Unfortnalty I don't have any option to remove the concrete as I has all the drainage and pipework underneath, but you link was helpful link to show how to do it if i have to. Also noted about scrapping polymerics I'll use SBR instead i defently go this route

Also I happy with greyish titles the black looks to clinical
