Need to install soakaway but don't have 5 meters

Foul and surface water, private drains and public sewers, land drains and soakaways, filter drains and any other ways of getting rid of water.

Hi guys,

installing a patio of approx 25 m2 right at the top of a hill.

Needs some kind of drainage but he garden is quite small and rectangular so the furthest point is less than 5 meters from the house.

Not sure really how to work around this. If there is no drainage then heavy rain is going to pour down hill onto neighbours property.

Was thinking of digging a linear drain right along the furthest perimeter and filling with perforated pipe, membrane and shinge but not sure if this too would breach building regs?

Best practice is 5 metres but you can get away with slightly less. Have you looked at suds page here
