Laying slabs on an existing slab base? - Slabs

Patio flagstones (slabs), concrete flags, stone flags including yorkstone and imported flagstones.

Hi

I need to slab over an existing slab base, can I go over the top of the existing slabs? or do i need to make sure that their is adequote drainage underneath? I was thinking of but 50mm of sand/cement mixture.
