hi again
i am exstending a tarmac driveway the problem is the existing driveway seems to have only one layer of tarmac that is a very open grade by the looks of it
will it be ok to use this method with the new bit i am planing to do so that it matches .
question 2 i am hoping to tarmac up to existing edging with big haunching so i was hoping to taper the tarnac at the edges to a depth of 20mm is this ok to do or will it crumble
?
??
thanks again for all advice
ps this is one job i dont look forward to doing but money is money

You've lost me: you ask whether it would be ok to use "this method" but don't say what "this method" involves.
As for "tapering" the bitmac, I can only assume you mean reducing the depth to cover the concrete on the edgings. if so, then yes: you can do that, but you need to keep it to a minimum, Use full depth construction wherever feasible.
