Hi Guys, not been about for a while! Hope you're all good?!
Just out of interest what falls do you guys lay normal hand cut Indian sandstone too?
I've got a client who wants it laid to a fall of 1:45 over a 3.5m distance on his patio, i've said its excessive but apparently that's what he has been told it should be by a groundworker on the site he's working on atm.
We normally lay between 1:80-1:60
Cheers Kieran

1:45 is close to the recommendation in the British Sandard, but that is "belt and braces" ad, for most people, that sort of fall would feel excessive on a patio....al the chery tomatoes will roll top one end of your plate when you;re dining al fresco!
So, while 1:45 is wonderful from a drainage point of view, it's not so comfortable from a utility point of view, and of all the different classes of pavement, a patio is probably the one where utility matters most.
LLL's suggestions are sound: enough to ensure no standing water but not so much you feel you're being tipped out of your chair!

Thanks for the reassurance. I knew I was right, the patio is now laid at 1:60.
