I have approx 220 12 x 12 quarry tiles to lay as a patio. These are hand made and are slightly "domed" subsequently the underneath is also domed. Question is, do i lay them with a mortor mix directly on to compacted hardcore, or use the 10:1 mix on the hardcore and lay each one individualy with mortor, or is there another way ? I think it will be important to fill the void under the tile to ensure a solid surface. As always your comments will be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

Jack

lay them on a mortar bed directly over the hardcore approx 50mm thick for a patio your right about the full bed best not to leave a void.
