Sealers & colour enhancers - Weiss ft plus

Hi all.
Anyone had this problem with the Weiss ft plus not drying after a week!
I have done it by the book.
I have applied it to my black limestone Copings it's gone in a treat and looks great. But I'm left with a sticky film which everything is sticking to.
So my question is should it dry with no residue.
Yes I shook the bottle, yes it has been applied within the temp range,
Yes the weather was perfect.
I'm a bit pissed to be honest it ain't cheep stuff!

How long had the paving been down? Needs to be 2/3 months. Have you read the sealant pages especially sealant trials page on the main index ?here

Yes my black limestone Copings were layed September 16.
They were in a perfect prept condition that's why I waited till
This spring.
Yep read the trial pages, that is why I chose the Weiss Ft Plus for the glossy finish,I hope I haven't missed anything, I am sure it didn't mention anything about it not drying!.
Have you used it yourself?.

that is odd? most sealants take 6-24 hours to dry ,was the bottle in date? and was it all stored correctly I.E. in a frost free area
I havent used weiss FT so cannot comment specifically but have you tried their customer service?

The litre bottles, the 14 days in my possession prior to use, they have been stored indoors.
Prior to that?.
There isn't a best before date on the bottle.
I have mailed Steintec & heard nothing as yet!.

Sealing on site as mentioned is a nightmare pre-sealed is the only way to go if you feel you need to do it ....

How do you mean exoticpete, I can imagine on a site but this is a back garden as I said it was perfect conditions.

Stewart certain companies (london stone for instance)
will seal your flags in a temperature controlled dry environment for around £12 a metre, this can seem expensive but it is bloody good value long term
last 5 patios I have done have all been presealed

Weiss FT PLus is *very* sensitive to any residual mositure in or on the stone, but the usual outcome when this is the case is a milky-white ghosting over the stone. I've never known it to resolve to a sticky film, and, knowing a little bit about the chemistry involved, I'm not even sure how that could happen.
