About to fit a new external hardwood door for garage.

Wanted to know what is the best way to treat it?

Sadolin stain then sadolin clear intop. Important to use a stain first even if light coloured as clear gets broken down by uv rays

Forget the Saddolin stuff, what you need is Owatrol D1 Pro, for new wood I'd apply 3 coats, then the maintenance is just one coat each year-18 months, just clean the door properly first.

But to add, I'd let the wood weather for at least 6 months, as there should and will be enough natural oils in the wood, Plus you'll most probably have mill-glaze on the wood at the moment, so you'd wasting your time trying to oil at the moment. What wood is being used? Iroko, Ipe, ???
