Protecting geotextile - What machine / plant to use

We are resurfacing the entrance to a graveled church car park. There is a slight run off from the adjacent pavement through the entrance. We propose to remove 250 of existing dross and then lay geotextile (Terram 1000 or TDP115) under the sub base (we have sandy clay below) and then put down 200 recycled granite chippings in 2 rolled layers. before adding a second geotextile (Terram 1000 or TDP115) layer and the topping.
There is only one entrance and the area we will be working is about 75 sq m. and is sort of kite/fan shaped. I remember cautions about not running plant over uncovered geotextile so what do we do to prevent geotextile damage apart from stone picking and rolling the subgrade before we lay the fabric ?

you can run plant over it you just can't turn. If you can figure out where your turning points are then lay board at those points and you'll be fine.

My experience is geotextile doesn't work under gravel, I wouldn't bother. If you do it will showing through in no time.

why you adding a second geotextile layer? theres no point in it, geotextile downon the clay then tip your granite chippings on it and work your way out onto it with machine,

How much cover would there be for the upper layer of geo-textile?

Anything much less than 100mm renders the geo-textile useless as there isn't sufficient weight in the covering aggregate to hold it in place to act as a load balancing layer. It will simply act as a separation layer, which, with less than 10mm of cover, risks becoming exposed in next to no time.
