Was browsing London stone website and saw they sell pointing (aluminium) tape.

Just wondered if anyone's ever used it and what they thought of it? Does it make mortar pointing easier and cleaner?

Cheers?

when doing overhangs or awkward bits aluminium tape seems to stick better to the stone than gaffer tape or similar.
not blowing smoke up my own arse but think I may have pioneered this technique :;):

Some good pioneering. Well done.

I was going to use it for normal pointing (no overhangs, ledges etc). Hoping if I taped up the edges the tape would stop any moisture bleeding into slabs, would still use quite dry mix but preventions better than cure. Do you think it would work?

When you use the tape does it leave any residue when you remove it?

Cheers
