I am about to get somebody to lay a domestic driveway,and have been offered the choice of Marshalls Driveline 50 mm or Eaton blocks 60 MM . Any differances in quality and durability?
Also is it necessary to apply a Paving sealer afterwards.
Grateful for your feedback!

Suddenly thought I was too fast and too harsh - don't be dictated to by your chap - the finish of your pavement is very important - done properly it will outlast you and your kids - not only that, the surround can make or break a lovely house - thatched cottage with tarmac - lovely......

Im in AUS. and haven't seen those pavers but I have been trying to decide between a few brands of 200 - 400mm concrete pavers here and what I did was I got some (loads actually) samples of all the pavers I could find then went at them with a file, grinding wheel, hammer etc.
I found that one brand (C&M, formally Rocla, from APC) was far better than all the others. They were stronger and when ground by hand with a very rough disc the aggregate didn't show through at all and they kept there colour (grey, charcoal).
All the others fell apart to some degree, more sand in the mix I guess.
For anyone in OZ, heres the others.
Worst was Axxton, nice smooth finish, local and cheap but very sandy, crumbly and fell apart easy.
Boral and Best were similar, ok but when ground a bit, the white aggregate showed through the charcoal surface and looked old very quickly.
If I were you I would get some samples and do likewise. Made it easy for me decide which company to go with as there is too much choice, all companies offer different sizes, formats etc.
50 or 60mm? Go with what the company says. Some say 50 is recommended for up to 3 tonne cars, some say 60. I'm using 50's
I plan to use a sealer once theyv'e been down for a couple months, Tony seems to think it's not normally neccesary but I want the extra insurance as I'm a bit rough on most things, spilling, dropping things etc. .After reading the site I want Resiblock 22 if I can ever contact anyone who will sell it to me.
Emailed every address on their site for weeks but no reply. Local BM's are no help either and their sealers seem dodgy. Do Resiblock have an Oz distibutor?, is there a local alternative?, does anyone care? Who knows.

Not sure if Resiblock have an Oz distributor, and given their very abrupt manner with me lately, I can't be arsed asking them. I'll PM an email address to you and you're welcome to ask them, but for me, I object to being treated as some sort of lackey, and being ordered to chamnge this or that at their whim.
The Sealants page is due for an update later this spring and it's unlikely that Resiblock will feature, unless they suddenly develop a change of attitude.

Resiblock manufactures a range of excellent products for sealing paver and concrete surfaces and, particularly, for penetrating and binding together the jointing sand in pavers. For your concrete pavers, the following two products would be suitable.
Resiblock ‘22’
This product binds jointing sand together and to the paver perpends. It prevents erosion of jointing sand from vacuum sweeping, wind, and even vertical take-off jets. It prevents weed growth through the jointing sand, penetration of water and petrol, and also seals the paver surfaces, protecting them from staining by food or oil spills. It gives a matt sheen to the paver surface. It is a solvent based product and is supplied in 5 and 25 litre drums. Coverage is from 1.8 – 2.4 sq mtrs /l depending on joint width and paver porosity.
Resiecco
Resiecco is not a solvent based product. Like Resiblock ‘22’ it binds the jointing sand in pavers and prevents ingress of water and hydrocarbons. It protects the paver surfaces from wear and from oil and food spills. It is supplied in 5 and 25 litre drums. It gives the paver surfaces a low satin sheen finish. Coverage is from 1.8 – 2.6 sq mtrs /l depending on joint width and paver porosity. As your application is domestic, and not as damaging an environment as an airport of dock, this product is probably the more suitable for you.
Price and availability
We have mainly supplied Resiblock ‘22’ to large commercial projects such as airports and docks. We have supplied on request, ordering by pallet loads and do not carry stocks of product as shelf life is about 12 months, unopened. Consequently, we would need to place an order to be shipped from London for your requirements.
Typically, our selling prices in Australia are $19.00 per litre for Resiblock ‘22’ and $15.60 per litre for Resiecco, plus GST. As your requirements would be for about 100 litres (say 4 x 25 litre drums) we would need to obtain a specific quotation for freight and handling costs as this quantity is less than one pallet and the fixed costs of importing may result in a slightly higher price when compared with a larger consignment.

Looks like Resiecco is the one for me, will be around $1500... I'll leave it for a few months after laying first of course, then decide if I need it but I think I will go for it. Surely I don't need a "Resiblock Squegee"?
