Crazy paving - Bedding

Patio flagstones (slabs), concrete flags, stone flags including yorkstone and imported flagstones.

Tony,

I intend to crazy pave my back yard,as it is already a concrete slab,I am setting the stone in trowel ready mortar.Have you any advise for me.

How deep is the existing concrete, what area does it cover and what condition is it in?

Advice?

1 - make sure your levels are not going to compromise DPC

2 - use a stiff bedding mortar with relatively low cement content

3 - butter each piece as it's laid using a b6:1 mortar of bricklaying consistency

4 -use a very, very stiff jointing mortar packed into the joints as you proceed

5 - book a series of appointments with an osteopath
