Ta for feedback.rxbren wrote:Hanson although better be sitting when you get the price as it's over a £120 a ton plus vat and that's if you have a full 20t
They must be taking the p*** That's stupid money. I can get it delivered for £106 inc VAT per 850kg bag so no saving buying in bulk at all from them.
Must be a cheaper supplier... Need at least 15 tons of the stuff.

Yeah dependig how far you are from the quarry if they send 15t on a 20t wagon you get charged for the empty space as well same as concrete Wagons if you order less than capacity there a part load fee.
I had one to quote but the price was far too high for the stone not sure what they did in the end we did a block paved path and parking area then prepared the drive between for decorative stone to be done at a later date.
For me when I was getting prices it would have been cheaper for bulk bags which sounds odd but was cheaper

I find with my bulk suppliers I get charges so much per ton plus delivery but the delivery charge is dependant on how far the aggregate has had to travel.
For example type 1 from a local quarry is £7 per ton plus £80 delivery where as cotswold chippings are £13 per ton plus 300 delivery. Get a full load and it works out cheaper per ton.
Funnily enough red granite comes from mount sorrel which is 12 miles down the road from me.
