Paint splatter on unsealed indian sandstone - Help with removing paint from slabs

I have an Indian sandstone patio. It's unsealed as my original contractor let me down. It was originally called black but has faded to light grey. Ironically I had finally gotten around to booking someone to come and clean (jet wash) and seal it when a couple of days before my neighbours had their fence painted. I now have paint splatter on around 90 slabs. The jet washing, even with patio cleaner attachment, didn't get it off. I've tried various other options in an area that will be hidden, heat gun, scrubbing, sanding. It does come of if you scrub hard enough but it changes the colour of the stone. It goes darker which I don't mind but there are around two hundred slabs in total and I'd need to scrub them all to keep the colour consistent. Any ideas anyone please?

What product did they use to paint the fence with? once I know this should be easy to remove. Don't do anything else to the paving until you have answered this question.
