Brick acid burns

A before & after photo of a acid burn I removed the other week.
The burn was caused by a well know "Patio Cleaner" that states it's safe on natural stone, seeing as the cleaner contains Hydrochloric acid AKA Brick Acid I don't think so.
The paving is Indian Sandstone newly laid and not even pointed yet, the pavers were trying to clean the slabs before pointing with the said product and ended up with these results.



Over 40 square metres of paving effected, I was able to remove around 99% of the burns and they have been left with a surface ready to point and seal at some stage.

I find it far easier to keep it clean as we go
I hope they are not mortar pointing it as a return visit may happen

Thanks Tom, yes they were very pleased, down side to this is, there are similar stains starting to show themselves on an area of paving that hadn't been cleaned with the "Brick acid" and I never cleaned/restored so we have a bit of a mystery here now.

So these look like potential iron deposits coming through also?
