damning us with faint praise Tony :pTony McC wrote:It's a polymeric, one-part product. If you are happy with the perfomance limitations of this group of products, you will be fine.

Azpects you guys should really get a few gallery pictures showing the different colour mortar's against different paving. I have buff multi and really struggled to find decent pictures showing your stone grey jointing material against a similar colour. Now I am laying my paving it is much more buff than it looked in the crates so may take it back to the merchant and swap for neutral. Guessing neutral is your best seller? or stick with the stone grey for a bit of contrast, hard choice lol
Op I would have liked to have used the gftk jointing material as it's regarded as one of the best but it was going to be more than double the price of the easy joint. From the research I done before spending my hard earned it appeared to me easy joint is one of the better one part products, I am only speaking from online research but can let you know in the next week or so. I figure it wont last as long as gftk stuff but I expect to get a good few years out it and by then hopefully the 2 part products are more reasonable. Definitely keep away from geo fix, my merchant tried to sell me it very cheap, after reading about all the problems I am glad I didn't bother.

the 1 part polymerics are good but have issues, the biggest issue being that as dirt inevitably is blown, and walked onto the paving,it collects in the fine holes in the jointing compound making it look dirty
the homeowner then gets his karcher out and blasts the living daylights out of it
a couple of years of this hard abrasion and the material starts eroding
Havent used your product Azpects but I suspect its the same with all polymerics some good and some bad and we all know which one has serious issues

All this talk of 1 part polymeric compounds being susceptible to pressure washers is really suprise g.
I use weatherpoint, fast joint (same product but stone market) easy joint or joint it on a regular basis.
I use a pressure when installing the stuff as I find it helps get the resin off the surface.
I also use it to clean up at the end of each job.
II've also cleaned a good few of my jobs 12-18 months after installation and gave never come across any problem as far as it being brittle or permanently discoloured.
Are you compacting it in the joints properly?

Not really. The (better quality) polymerics are fine as long as users understand they are not ideal on areas subject to vehicular traffic and that they are prone to coming loose when blasted with a high pressure jet. That's not saying they are, per se, bad products, just that they have limitations.Azpects wrote:damning us with faint praise Tony
It's like saying Volkswagen have limitations: they can't do 200+ mph like a McLaren, and they don't have a cocktail bar like a Rolls Royce, but they're still a good car!

We sell loads of Easyjoint and also use it on quite a few of our installations and never had a problem with the product, it is a pretty decent single part polymeric if you ask me, in terms of longevity I think if you are using it on your own patio and not over zealous with the jetwash it will certainly last for many years to come. Its obviously does not have the strength of the two part epoxy but these products have there own pitfalls which I would be reluctant of using on certain Sandstones as they can leave a Resin residue which is not always that easy to get off!!

hello Kaburdave , would you be able to tell me if possible the colours on the websites do they accurately show the colours as they are , as if they do the buff ( golden yellow ) seems too strong ? as my paving is this :

Hello Steve,
I'm only going on my experience, I have never had a problem with the single part polymerics like Easy Joint staining, the 2 part Epoxy are a great product however on certain types of paving weve found it can leave a resin sheen or worse, I don't think you can always just put it down to user error, we sell both but just had a few problems this year with the Epoxy's on our installs and our guys are pretty skilled at using the product,
Cheers
