Hello , had changed my normal 2 steps from patio to lower patio area into curved steps , not sure such a good idea now , as wondering how im going to cut the indian paving slabs , should i just use cardboard cut out as template ? also what about the riser part of step would be even harder , is it best to just cut slabs into small strips to enable to follow the curve ? any tips or suggestions would be welcome thanks .

Usual practice is to put the flag into position than mark it while it's in-situ. Take it up again, move it to a safe area for cutting, and set about it with a cut-off saw.

Ideally, you want the treads to be as large as possible so that they will be properly bedded and less likley to come loose.

Most people if laying a curved step will use a soldier course of bricks or tegula type kerbs which form the riser and then the flags are set flush with the top of the riser. Laying with an overhang is not as attractive as you get a lot of cuts. Also as tony mentioned you often get smaller pieces of flag which are to small to be safely bedded with an overhang

Then infill the tread with flags
