hi i am doing a sand stone circle patio. but was planing not to point it as i would like to plant thyme in between joints as they do not need mutch soil or depth to grew.
1 is this ok to do
2should i still buter slabs as i go
3 i am planning for the patio to go to the grass is their any need to hauntch the side or should i just use a stronger mix for the outer ring thanks

Thyme will need a VERY well drained jointing medium, so no buttering. Fill the joints with a 2:1 mix of coarse grit sand with quality sandy soil.
