I am constructing a concrete pad to support a lightweight cabin the side of the pad is 5.6metres by 4.1metres. the depth of the concrete is 10cm. What I would like to know is where do I need to put control joints if at all. The pad is constructed in 5 sections.
Thanks for your help.
Eric

5.6 x 4.1 is just over the recommended max slab size of 20 square metres, and at only 100mm thickness, the max recommended dimension for any un-jointed section is 3m.

If you increased slab thickness to 135mm, you could get away with just a single control joint giving you two sections each being 2.8 x 4.1. However, if yu have a really good sub-base and use a fibre-reinforced ready-mixed concrete, I reckon you could get away with the 100mm thickness and the single control joint, as there is no vehicular access (I assume).
