Hi
Last week I had a limestone patio laid (Finished on Friday). Today is the first day that it has been dry since completion and we have just discovered some strange dark patches on the flagstones around some of the edges. I was wondering if this is normal for limestone as it looks odd. Could it be the stone is not totally dry due to the rain we had yesterday or could it be staining from the joint compound used? I first thought it was just natural colouring in the stone but where one stone has a mark the one next to it has one that matches? See link below for pictures.

Thanks Andy

What was used for the jointing?

Loks as though it's oil staining caused by applying a brush-in resinous mortar to dry flagstones and only along the joints.
