I,ve been worried about all the stories about staining ect of indian sandstone so now thinking of going for concrete paving like bradstone panache in different tones , they say a gap of 2-5mm is reccommended , but can one still grout these as i have not seen photos with cement grout or are you just supposed to leave this gap unfilled ? thanks

There are specialist narrow joint mortars, the best of which are resin based, such as VDW 815. Cement mortars at such narrow thicknesses are often brittle and fragile but they can be 'beefed-up' by adding a strengthener such as SBR. However, with Panache and other similar pavings, the risk of staining when using a beefed-up cement mortar is just not worth the risk.

In practice, these narrow joints are often filled with a kiln dried sand, as used with block paving. This is cheap, clean and very effective, as long as you have no plans to use a pressure washer on the paving. In case you do want to blast the crap off the paving at some point, use a joint stabiliser to bind together the loose sand grains.
