How long after laying are you safe with rain??

Patio flagstones (slabs), concrete flags, stone flags including yorkstone and imported flagstones.

Just wondering really, laid a patio Saturday finishing about 17:30 and it's now Sunday evening about 8 or so and started raining, just wondering how safe it should be as it's not pointed, just on the mortar bed? For a general rule of thumb, what's the minimal amount of time needed for it to realistically bed/bind??

It'll be fine in that time frame, stay off them for 48 hours.

Cool, thanks. The dog is wondering why all of a sudden there's bright orange, plastic barrier netting strung between metal spikes all along HIS previous slouching space!! :D

Be careful knocking metal spikes in to deep, always go for wooden stakes myself, or concrete blocks offset for pulling a line through.

Ah, no, they're placed in a line along one side of the flags as it runs the whole width of the garden to seperate the garden from the pooch! They're a good few inches from the patio itself. :)

Is it same rule of thumb for mortar jointing? Tomorrow looks like it might rain in the evening so gonna hold off until early early Monday morning with light rain predicted Tuesday evening; just wondering if that sort of timeframe is okay, especially as it's exposed unlike the mortar bed, and with it being a stronger 3:1 mix unlike the weaker bed??
