I'm laying the sub-base for a 25m2 patio (18m2 rectangle plus 7m2 path down the side of the garage)
I planned the patio to slope away from the house to provide a fall for drainage. I've lowered the patio to the level of the driveway, 150mm below the DPC on the house (previous patio was above level of driveway and close to the level of the DPC.
What I didn't think about before I started was that the driveway slopes towards the house (down the side, effectively, meaning that where the driveway and patio meet at the side gate, I'll have two opposing gradients (sloping towards each other!)
Is this something I will be able to fettle once I get to laying the slabs or do I need to make some changes now? It's making me a little nervous!!
Only spotted when I was setting out levels on the main patio and noticed that the marks I made on the garage wall taken from the same marks on the house didn't match up with the marks taken from the level of the drive against the garage and the house.
Cheers,
James
