Sealing sawn mint sandstone.

Hi All

I’m just in the process of choosing stone for my garden, I’ve been looking at the sawn mint/yellow mint from infinite paving. They mention on their site about sealing the bottom of the slabs to stop salts and colour from the sand coming up through it. I did see another post bellow about this and the answer is what I would have said but what other options are their to stop anything coming up throughout the slab?

I want to use some of the stone for coping stones on a raised bed and this will need to be laid with building sand. I’d normally use a bonding bridge for this; would sbr and white cement still give the issue salts or would the sbr seal it up?

I am planning on sealing the top surface prior to laying as I normally do this on customers projects.

A quality impregnator would prevent anything coming through and an SBR Bond bridge will make doubly sure.

For the benefit of others reading the post you should never seal the bottom and sides of the flags. Sealing the bottom and sides prevents the bedding layer and pointing mix from bonding with the stone
