Stable block pavers - Pointing old stable block pavers

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me please. I've been asked to clean an area of 70 sq metres of paving which serves as a parking area for a converted stable block. The pavers are clay and brick shaped, and I've noticed some bear the mark "PLUCKLEY COMPANY KENT". Currently the gaps are full of moss/weeds/dirt and the customer requires this to be removed and the surface of the blocks cleaned, which is not a problem for me. My question is what material should be put back into the joints, if anything. As it's an old surface, I'd be interested to know what was in there originally from a historic perspective. The gaps range in size from 2mm to 15mm so my thoughts are that kiln dried wouldn't last 5 minutes (unless sealed - customer doesn't want to run to that), sharp/washed sharp with/without cement as a dry mix brushed in (would it need pressing into the joints?) or one of these brush in air activated pointing mixtures? Any advise would be welcome, thanks in advance, Bob.

bob these are typical victorian pavers
any kind of pointing gear is going to cost a lot of money as the joints vary so much
other than taking up and relaying properly on 50-75 mm of screed or sand and regularizing the joints,I would leave well alone
KDS would be a short term fix

we have come across these on victorian houses in back yards and relaid right they look great
but most we have found are laid on mud/sand
