Hopefully someone can help.

What's the best method to lay a slab path (600x600 cheap grey) and have falls in both directions for good drainage.

Must slabs be cut diagonally so they can be folded over, or, could they be laid with falls in both directions and avoid lips you could stub your shoes on.

I'm thinking of setting up a string line on each side of slabs to help as a laying guide.

Hopefully I can get some good advice. Cheers

fall in both directions?
set 2 slabs one at each end at your datum or preferred height
then set one in the middle around 1:50 higher than the end two
pull a string line through and tingle the line up to the centre slabs
then lay

Luton lager lout,

Thanks for taking time to help.

I think either I have misinterpreted what you wrote or you have misinterpreted what I wrote.

By fall in two directions I meant slabs are laid in straight line and there would be a fall running the length of path and a fall running sideways.

In your answer were you thinking I wanted ahigh point halfway through the path and water would shed to either side ie fall in two directions?

Apologies for any confusion.

It would be possible but the falls would have would have to match ie if going along the side of the house the line at the side of falls 100mm where the fall comes away from the house you would have to match on either end so if the fall coming away from the house is 50mm it would have to be that on both sides.

So essentially it needs to be one plane otherwise you need envelope cuts

in this case i would set up 2 lines,if the slabs are small enough you can probably do it a so that say they fall 1:80 across the path and 1:50 or whatever over its length
if they are bigger it will be a struggle

imagine a scaffold board
you can fall it along its long length and tilt it so it falls sideways as well
you can achieve this with 2 lines

It's crossfall and endfall. I'm sure if you look in the index the boss has gone through great lengths to describe such a situation
