Hi folks,

Was wondering if any of you are familiar with marshalltown QLT trowels? Was in B&Q and they're doing marshalltown QLT brick trowels for £15, same dimensions as one at £40. Blade had little big more flex than £40'er otherwise identical. Had pointing trowel and brick jointer pack for £10. I'm not a regular user of these tools and have bought some bad cheap and cheerfully junk before, fancy upgrading but don't think I can justify the price of the top end kit.

Looked on amazon and they're selling QLT range for £40-plus...

Had look on E-bay and saw one seller saying QLT range is made in China, not USA.

Hopefully someone has used them already.

Thanks andy
Thank - you

BTW since I started laying bricks I have probably worn out 3 marshalltown trowels 19:11 s

I dont think 40 quid every 10 years is a big hit :-)

Thanks LLL for the reply. You're a gent. Will drop a hint to the mrs - maybe get one in my stocking. You must of laid some amount of bricks? Have you ever tried to estimate an average of bricks laid per day to how long you've been doing it?

Do you get quite attatched to your trowel? Never bin the old ones just in case.

Thanks again. Andy
Thank - you

I still have the old ones, they are just a lot smaller now
I have one that is down to about 19: 8 that I use for tricky facework
marshalltown with duraflex handles really are the prince of trowels
estimates?
on subby sites in the 80's you had to lay 650 facers a day or you were down the road
almost certainly over a million but the bulk of those fired into big fletton footings from 87-91
this year probably around 12 000 but all on quality over quantity work
LLL :)
