after wacking down the sub base to a garage drive, how long can you leave it before paving it !

The sooner it's paved over, the better, but there's no real harm in leaving it open to the elemnts for as long as you like. However, if the top surface becomes contaminated (cat crap, mud, litter, etc.) it's best to scrpae off the top 25mm or so and replace it with fresh sub-base material before you start the paving.
