Laying granite sawn side up - any implications

Hi,we just got granite slabs which are sawn on three sides and flamed on one side.
Are there any implications (other than different appearance and that it may be slippery if wet) ) if it is laid sawn side up and flamed side down ?

Sawn side may well have scratches, or other marks.
Can be very slippy when wet.
Will increase the appearance of picture framing.

Has it been laid? If not, don't do it. There are reasons why it has been flamed.

The texture is added to comply with British Standards on slip resistance.

It will be very slippy when wet if you lay the sawn side facing up

Also as Higness said the sawn side will have saw marks all over it, could look pretty bad

Why do you want to lay upside down?

Thanks guys. Yes some has been laid don't ask me why but now too late to change and missus says she likes it better flat side up.
Slippery not a problem and saw marks are not that bad.
Mo just wonder if there is any other implication if layer thy side up - like more chances of efflorescence or more water absorbent etc?

Also if it has been laid that way is there any way to improve appearance after that... I guess flaming DIY is not an option but maybe polishing would help?

Polishing will make it more slippy.
Seriously, when it rains, this will be lethal.
Some fool years ago did this in our display area, it can be very slippy.

all right so the best option is to leave it I guess.
ripping off, cleaning and re-laying doesn't sound like a good plan...

Take up clean and relay propaly come winter broken bones every where sbr underside before relaying 👍

if I do it - how do I clean flamed side from mortar?

by sbr do you mean just apply it on the underside and put back on old mortar or make mix new one with sbr?

Clean flamed side use pressure washer and non acdic or Geocel to final clean take up all old mortar replace with sharp sand 5 parts to 1 part cement 100ml of sbr to mix make moist paint sbr. To rear of slab and lay on full bed do not use bricklaying sand or pva

mortar was cured already and despite I managed to lift the flagstone with a bit of effort, could not clean flamed side from mortar completely. Had to leave the others in place and lay the other part flamed side up.

I wonder if it is possible to add flamed finish to the sawn side after they have been laid ? - perhaps will have to start another topic
