Basketweave nearly always shifts. Like one of those kiddies' tile puzzles, the blocks move as rows or courses and the pattern becomes distorted. As long as the c;lient is aware of this and signs a disclaimer exempting you from any liability or remedial work, they cane have any pattern they want!

Tegular are bigger blocks and although it's laid stretcher bond none of the perks line up.
Not as strong as herringbone but much stronger than basket weave as it doesn't interlock at all.

The reason my dad did it is because he used left over blocks, half were 60's half 80's.

I stand corrected Tony.
He wasn't that old.
I think I was about 10 when he laid it so that would have made him 30.
He is really bad. One example is he finds out exactly how many litres of fuel he needs to get him to work and back each day and puts that exact amount in so the van isn't carrying excess weight and costing him more in fuel.
