Levelling of a base

a few months ago i had a concrete base installed prior to a sectional garage being erected. The garage was put up the other day but the installers were having problems with the base not being level and panels not lining up. I now have a garage with some small pieces of wood under some panels to bring them up to the height of the others. What should i do next? Should I level the inside of the base off and have some concrete placed under the panels with gaps.

give the best course of action and what type of mix would be best suited and how i should go about doing it.

I have tried to contact the builder who done my base but surprise surprise he's not answering the phone and i have a left a message on his phone but no contact.

You could level off the inside of the concrete base by adding more concrete. If you add less than 2'' of concrete there is a reasonable chance that it won't stay in place for long. Go for a 5:1 20mm ballast wet mix, damp your existing base as you go and make sure the temperature is going to be above freezing day and night for about 36 hrs.

Assuming these gaps are no more than 20mm, I'd pack a Class II mortar into the gap between section base and floor - I'd probably add a drop of Ronafix or SBR to the mix just to ensure it bonds.

I wouldn't overlay the floor unless there was a problem with ponding, which really shouldn't happen inside the garage.

i have decided to just fill the gaps as it seems the easiest solution and although the base is not level at some points it just seems to much work for what I am needing it for.


what is a class 2 mortar? someone suggested a 3:1 mix and they told me to get the mix sothat it can be made into a ball but doesn't fall apart and pack that under the sections and shutter off one side so that it can be well packed.

there are some rough parts on the floor which i may just smooth over using a bonding agent and a mix. Any suggestions on best way to do this.

what is a ronafix or SBR. Are these just bonding agents?
