Hi, I recently posted a couple of times about our new patio and got some great advice....the job has moved on now with the builder expecting to finish laying it (Nordus Schwartz slate) in the nexy day or so.
He's just asked what colour of mortar we'd like and said he'll be using Geofix.
A quick search on here / google leads me to think that's not such a wise choice!!
Any recommendations on what to use instead? or whether Geofix is ok?
We took a long time to save the money for the garden and obviously the Nordus slate isn't cheap....so I don't want to scrimp on this part and want to get something put in that will last.
Thanks for any advice. Below is a pic of the patio so far....

thanks for the replies....I think we're going with the Marshalls one....but he knows it's anything but the Geofix one
Quick extra question....does the pointing (the Marshalls one) add to the strength of the whole area?
No, other than helping to prohibit lateral movement.
This may be a dumber question, I don't get this hessian stuff, we use it to stop muck drying to quick (needed about 1 summer in 10 ).
Cheers

A good 2-part resin will cost 50-75 quid per 25kg
A good polymeric will cost 25-40 per 25kg
A crap polymeric wil cost 20-30 per 25kg
Be aware that not all buckets contain the same quantity. Some manufacturers put only 15 or 20kg in their buckets in the belief that we won't be able to figure out that 15kg for 30 quid is not as good a price as 25kg for 45 quid
